What makes High Desert Piano different from all the other studios out there?

At High Desert Piano, I believe in a creative approach to teaching the piano. When a student comes to their lesson, first and foremost they should be having fun. If they're not having fun, then they're not going to do very well with learning.

At High Desert Piano, there are many innovative programs that set us apart: Group Workshops, Composition Projects, AAA Club (Anytime, Anywhere, Anyone), and much more. These programs create a feeling of ownership and accomplishment in each student which drives them to excel.

What are group workshops?

Group workshops are a space where students can socialize with each other, play games, perform, and learn! Coming together once a month creates a sense of community that is wonderful to be a part of, and fosters a safe environment to learn and grow in.

Do I need to have a piano at home to learn how to play?

The short answer is yes. The long answer is that a big grand piano or upright piano isn't necessary, and that there are many suitable digital pianos that are far cheaper that will do just fine!

How old do my kids need to be before they can start learning to play the piano?

This is a difficult question to answer, because every child is very different. I usually begin teaching students at the age of five or six, depending on the child.

I'm an adult, am I too old for piano lessons?

No! I am a firm believer that everyone deserves to have music in their life, and that it's never too late to start. No matter your age, you can learn to play the piano.
